Using an infrared camera to detect fluctuations in pigs
2018-05-18
Infrared thermal imaging is a non-destructive
testing technology that can be used to determine the
superficial temperature of objects. This technology has an
increasing use in detecting diseases and distress in animal
husbandry within the poultry, pig and dairy production.
An
infrared camera can measure if the sow has fever without disturbing
her. This method can assist in detecting illness in the sow at an early
stage, thereby saving piglet lives.
